J&R is a retail company with over 33 years of history. Established in 1971 in downtown New York City it became over the years a big company and a well recognized brand with thousands of loyal customers. J&R specializes in electronics and computers and has a big choice of refurbished laptops. They are online since 1998.

Shipping
Unfortunately J&R doesn't accept international orders. They ship only to Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, Puerto Rico and Canada. J&R uses UPS as a main carrier.
Costs
Shipping costs are based on weight. You can find detailed shipping costs for every item in offer description. However, these are valid only for 48 Contiguous US States. If you are ordering from other location, shipping costs are displayed during the order process.
The minimum charge per order to the 48 Contiguous States is $4.95 for Ground Shipping. For Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico customers the minimum charge is $19.90.
Sometimes you may find laptops with a Free Shipping option. Free Shipping applies only to Standard Ground shipping to the 48 Contiguous US States.
Time
J&R ships most orders within 2 days of receiving the order. However, they do not ship orders on Saturdays and Sundays. You can always find estimated shipping time on offers description page.

Payment
You can pay by VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Credit Cards. If you want to place Mail Order you can also pay by Personal Check or Money Order. J&R retail stores also accept Cash and Traveler's Checks.

Offers
J&R maintains constantly about 100 laptop offers, although not all of them are refurbished items. You can find brands like Acer, Toshiba, Dell, IBM, Apple, Sony, Fujitsu, HP, E-Machines, Compaq, Gateway and other less popular ones. Most offers are very well described, but there are sometimes offers without almost any description.
Navigation
Navigation on J&R site is easy and intuitive but still keeping big amount of functionality. On the main page you can choose your category from top horizontal menu. When you roll cursor over the menu item, pop-down menu appears that allows you to choose more specified product category.
You can sort each product list by top sellers, brand, title or price. That's very practical and useful solution. Additionally you can use search option to search what you want on the whole site or only within the product list currently displayed.
Laptops
On J&R you may find new or refurbished products. All refurbished laptops are reconditioned, tested and cleaned, usually by manufacturer.
Accessories And Upgrade Components
There is a choice of accessories and upgrade components including cases, wireless NIC cards, memory upgrades and drives. When buying laptop, you can look at the frame on the right side of the page, where products bought by other customers together with this laptop are listed.
Warranty
Every refurbished laptop comes with a warranty. Great majority of them has 90 days limited warranty, usually from manufacturer.

Returns
Unfortunately, you cannot return computer products for any reason but warranty claims. In such case your computer will be repaired, or you will get other product of the same type.
