Laptop Cases
When you buy a refurbished laptop, it is unusual to get a case included. And because you probably buy a laptop
to move around with it, you have to buy one to protect your notebook from physical damages and weather
conditions like rain or snow. Good case makes also carrying your computer comfortable, what becomes essential when you have to do it for couple of hours a day.
There is a big choice of laptop cases, even directly from laptop manufacturers. Although you could buy a case from Dell or IBM, they are usually a bit overpriced and you don't have a big choice there. The best solution is to choose a case from one of many online stores that have tens of many manufacturers' cases types and models.
Before you buy a laptop case, first measure your notebook and check if it would fit to the case. Make also sure that it is made of durable and waterproof material. Other important thing is to check if a laptop compartment would protect your laptop from possible shocks. Good case should allow your laptop surviving a drop from typical desk, that is from about 70cm, without damage. I advice you also to choose lightweight cases. The heaviest models can weight almost as much as lightweight laptop itself. If you ever have to carry it in your hands for a while you will recall my words.
Any other features of the case you choose should fit your personal likes and needs. You can choose either traditional or sport design. Many cases have additional compartments for documents, PDAs, cell-phones, business cards and others. If you are going to carry additional batteries, external ZIP drive and a lot of documents with your laptop you would probably choose a case with a lot of additional compartments and organization features. Other people may like small and thin cases, which after putting the laptop inside do not leave much space for other things.
There are many laptop cases manufacturers. One of the most popular is Samsonite. They have many types of good quality bags at a wide range of prices starting from about $30. They come with 36 months limited warranty and have rather traditional design. Cheaper cases are made from durable, waterproof and lightweight Polyester 600D. You can also choose more expensive models made of leather.
If you prefer sport style you could also find interesting cases manufactured by JanSport. Their undeniable advantage is that they come with lifetime warranty. For about $45 you can get a case that weights less than 1 lbs. Except innovative design they feature also durable materials and good inside organization features.
